Description
Clad in leather armor and carrying two short swords, Anik looks dangerous if it inst for three things: His friendly smile and the fact that he is fat and short. Even for a halfling. He has brown hair and blue eyes and it almost always seen chewing happily away on some kind of sweet. His skin is dark as if he was been in the sun a lot.

Biography
Anik grew up in a rather big - by halfling standard - halfling village surrounded by his mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandfathers, grandmothers and a host of other friendly halflings. Though Anik were always happy in the village, he longed for traveling and seeing other places. He would read books about strange places and people alle the time. One day - two days before his 10th year birthday - he hid himself on a wagon driven by human merchants who had been visiting the village and were now bound for the human city., Of cause, he did not intent to run away. He had done this before and knew that he would be back the very next day as the merchants would send an excort with him. He also knew that his parents would be furious for having to pay for that excort, but the big city of the humans were very attracting. Besides, his mum would have him pay of the debt by peeling potatoes for the entire family for a forthnight, so it wasn't as if he would not pay his parents back. Sorts of., Anik had a great trip to the city and he saw a lot of wonderous sights from the wagon as it drove through the city. As he expected he was discovered as the wagon was unloaded and given the opinion of his behaviour by the merchants, who then proceeded by hiring an excort to take him back the next day. The excort were an old soldier, who made a living of excorting small parties into the wilderness. He took the young halfling back to the village... only to find the entire village burned to the ground. Noone were left alive. The old soldiers had no luck holding Anik back, he ran through the village calling out for anyone who'se name he could remember but noone answered. The soldier found Anik sobbering in his parents kitchen and he took him back to the human city out of mercy. On the trip he just said one thing to explain it all: "Orc Raiders!"!, Of cause the humans sent out a lot of search parties to find and destroy the orcs and the retaliation were quick but very bloody. But Anik were left without family or anyone else to care about him, in an orphanedge. He did not stay there for long, though. Instead he started hanging in the streets with other youngsters with no caring family and soon Anik found himself as a member of the city's thieves guild., While Anik were good as a thief - even at this young age - the guild did not appresiate his independent thought and tendency to act on his own. He spent a lot of time in the guild dungeon and payed a lot of penalties to the guild. It was in the dungeon he came to know the half-orc thug Grumsh, who had taken a liking to Anik and who felt embarrished over the orc attack on the halfling village. Grumsh were among other things, the guard of the guild dungeon and he made sure that Anik's stay there were not uncomfortable - when you disregard the humid and dark surroundings. Anik learned orcish from his half-orc friend., Eventually, the guild leader became so upset with Anik that Grumsh warned him: "Get out of town and dont ever return. Hugo is going to kill you if he ever sees you again!". Anik decided that he had come to dislike the city anyway and that he would do what he had allways wanted to do: go visit the elves. He hid himself once more in the merchant's wagon - but this time it was bound for the elven forrest. Upon arrival the elves paid for the load and then started unloading the cargo. Of cause, Anik was soon discovered and found himself in the very firm hands of one of the merchants. Then the arguing began; the merchants did not want to take Anik back, they were sure (and rightly so) that he had stolen from them on several occations and they felt they owed him nothing. The elves on the other hand, did not want him in their home., As the argument became heated, Anik saw a change to make a run for it. He ran as fast as he could toward the trees. But just as he was about to reach the safety of the trees, suddently he could not move a foot. He stood as frozen to the ground. An old elf slowly drifted down though the air from a tree to the ground. He looked at Anik for a moment, then he said to the merchants: "You will bring this halfling back, or we will make no further trade with you. Remember who wanted this trade in the first place!". The merchants were about to agree - Anik knew this for sure - when another, a younger voice sounded from behind him: "Oh grandad! Please... he's just a halfling. Let him stay.. pleaaase!". There were silence for a long moment before the old elf answered: "He will be your guest and your responsibility" and the younger voice quickly answered: "But of cause, grandad". A moment later Anik could see the face of a young elf as his rescuer took a closer look at the halfling., Of cause, Anik were trouble as allways in the period he lived by the elves, but the elves were not very set on rules themselves. Tisal, the young elf, turned out to be a ranger in training and Anik and Tisal had a lot of fun and adventure in the elven forrest. It was during this time that Anik learned elvish. Anik were as happy as he had been at home in the halfling village. He stayed there for almost two years and he even won the heart of the old elf, who turned out to be a goodhearted wizard. And he never, ever stole anything from the elves. Not even once. Well, apart from fruit and sweets of cause., But still Anik were not sastisfied. He wanted to go move on. He wanted to see the world. Tisal, too, wanted to go but he was to young and he had caring parents to forbid him to go. Once again Anik found himself on the road heading for the unknown.
